From 22 May 2026, the Sens restaurant at Lake Lucerne will once again transform into a stage for culinary excellence. Our Executive Chef Ruud Oostdijk, known for his outstanding work at the hotel restaurant "Inspiration" and his impressive panoramic terrace, will once again take on the role of host for the culinary talents of the month.

With his expertise and tireless dedication, Ruud provided guests with unforgettable moments of enjoyment and expressed the essence of fine dining in every creation.

Summer Delight in Riviera Style at the VH Riviera

This summer, our Executive Chef Ruud will treat you to his new Riviera-style cuisine—a Mediterranean summer menu. At Sens, you can expect simple, authentic dishes that capture the charm of the South.

Enjoy à la carte dishes that highlight light, fresh flavors. No complex fine dining menus, but simple yet refined creations – whether it’s a whole fish, a beautiful piece of meat, or light Mediterranean dishes.

Ruus Oostdijk will be cooking at the Sens summer residence from Wednesday to Saturday between May 22 and August 29, 2026.

Executive Chef Ruud Oostdijk

Ruud Oostdijk is our Executive Chef at the hotel. The experienced chef has overall responsibility for all the kitchens in the house, including the restaurant «Sens», the restaurant «Inspiration», the «Panoramaterrasse», and the changing gastronomic pop-ups.

Ruud has previously worked in various top restaurants in the Netherlands, such as «Chateau Neercanne», «Vista Willemstad», and «Hostellerie De Schuddebeurs». He brings extensive experience and can pass this on to the junior chefs.
